f.a.c.e.b.o.o.k

What can you say, welcome to the new age of technology where people start a relationship online have a virtual family and even a virtual death, im sorry are we trying to make avatar the sequel here?

Sims was and is the new virtual family game pad. Why go that far, let’s just start with the oh so famous social network...Facebook! never heard of it? Aiks u r SO in trouble, not to forget that you must be living in some cave. As technology improves so does software, came and went was Friendster and now the world’s coolest and hottest social networking site is the above mentioned Facebook! Why am i emphasising on this facebook thing so much, well maybe because i fall into that category off “as soon as I on my comp i log into Msn and facebook” Facebook (FB) is technically like just living a proper virtual life like Sims except it has all you friends involved in it on a everyday basis. You can have a Farm, cook your own food, keep pets, fight the war, make clothes, take quizzes, have pillow fights, update your thoughts on a minute basis, know what you friend in Timbuktu is doing in the forest because he or she updated the status via “FB for mobile”, whew! That was certainly a mouthful. But that is reality and twitter is another story altogether.

Whatever it is, now people have resorted to FB to do almost everything, from announcing that their single, available, who they want to meet, what they do, birthdays. If at all you don’t have facebook, i shall explain, there’s a column at the side of your page where you can select your status and its usually left empty unless of course you’re trying to make a statement to someone out there (who are your friends and already know what’s happening anyway) which is usually the case, i mean why else would you even be FBking right? Offices have now resorted to buying access to their new employees FB just to see what their up to. Now this is when you should hit the panic button, if you had a hell of a night and took MC the next day, boy are you in trouble, when the tagging fiesta starts. “Tagging” takes place when one uploads pics and clicks on everybody’s name to identify them; sometimes it’s not a great.

But FB can get on your nerves, you feel upset and you want to speak your mind out, then when they give you their 2 cents worth you get annoyed, sorry why are you posting it up in the first place? But a real incident has proven that FB is never safe even though you think it’s just your friends. A short snippet ‘ a college student who thought it was cool to update the world about his presence at some ‘against the country ethics event” now has to serve jail time. Oops! So let’s not try to be too open on it shall we.

Though FB has its pros by allowing us to find long lost friends, keep in touch and open various new prospects to our lives. It also has its cons where it makes us put up with things we don’t want to know or see from people we don’t really like or so forth. Whatever it may be, until another web portal catches us to its addiction, happy facebooking for now!
