Malaysia made the headlines when it broke out that a Muslim woman was being caned in the result of drinking alcohol. This does differ from when we made headlines of producing our own cars during the down turned economy.
Now, just a week ago we made headlines on how Malaysia is in confusion, on who should use some certain terms, to phrase it in a very mild manner. A Molotov cocktail and red paint thrown, by a minority of mindless and idle minds, on a holy place had obviously triggered this. Little did this group of idiotic thinkers realize that this action would only bring the majority of civilized Malaysians to a closer and tighter bond? This is shown ever so evidently by the funds pouring in from different areas in order to repair these holy sanctuaries.
Whatever said and done, this has surely brought pain and sorrow to fellow Malaysians; these things are not meant to happen in this country, maybe to the countries around us which we do read about in the papers and hear over the news but here??? After over 50 years of independence we surely seem to have matured a lot because once that wonderful deed was done in order to make a statement, it is no more in regard of a word which should be used or otherwise but all in all maybe going against the ‘1 Malaysia’ concept itself. What is the use of trying to leave behind the grand kids a greener and friendlier environment when the question of how united the country stands is much more pressing.
Is it too much to ask for a government whom can speak up for the country as one, regardless of what they are? Is it difficult to have open negotiations without having so much of disagreements and produce some kind of mutual understanding within all, whom we embrace as our own fellow brothers and sisters? Because it is this understanding that brings us to embrace a common ethic within the multicultural races between us. After many decades of living together as one family, here is where our strength lies in and this is what we should believe and not the other unnecessary things around us.
Until some solid conclusion of peace is drawn from this, we shall calmly be united over the new season of American Idol.
